What God put together, let no man put assunder!
I’ve just returned from an assume trip to Barbados where I met Tyson and Martha to marry him and her in the midst of family and friends. While there I had the opportunity to practice the presence of God and minister to a number of individuals who enriched my life by sharing in their experience. I am so thankful for those who deposited more into me than I poured into them. May Tyson and Martha’s story continue to grow in proportion to all that God is revealing unto them as the last hours approach of His coming glory! May they remember that all things world together for the good of them that love Him and are called according to His purpose! And ultimately, may that which God had put together, let no man put assunder!
The Father and Son Relationship
With tomorrow being Father’s Day, I feel a need to speak to the Father and Son Relationship. If the truth be told, the bible is a story that deals primarily with the relationship of a Father and Son. The concept of fatherhood is developed all throughout the bible. Initially, God the Father is the creator, and it is he who chose us and not us having chose him. It is the will of the father to create a family, so he asks a woman to be his wife. Just because a man lays with a woman and they have a child, doesn’t mean they have a family. And for this reason does he leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife and the two shall become one! Family becomes the means whereby God instills Kingdom values and principals through the teaching of a father and then passes on the Kingdom inheritance of a father to a son and his descendants. It is the faithful son who desires to carry out the will of his father by understanding it is God’s desire to preserve the name of his father and all his descendants.
Seeing the Kingdom in the NBA Finals
Wow……………I can’t see how anybody watching the NBA finals can not see the glory of God displayed in the exceptional play of both teams. The determination of the human will in action is mindboggling! The determination witnessed each night as they’ve demonstrated the ability to face and conquer illness and challenge. I’m reminded of the biblical story wherein Jacob wrestled with the angel of God and when the angel said, “Loose me,” Jacob said, “Not until you bless me!” We see the resolve of each team, joined together with a common bond of winning a championship. Together they face the challenge of the opposing team, with a determination to prevail against any and every defensive scheme, but even against the greatest of any one player. No deficit has proven to be to big to overcome, and as long as there has been time remaining on the clock, the potential of a comeback exists. Like Jacob, they’ve prevailed with God and with man, and the victor of each contest has had the opportunity to shine but for a few days before the next challenge. That sounds allot like life! But with each taste of victory comes a greater hunger and thirst for it all.
